Investment Studio > Objects > Browser > Toolbar

The Browser object's toolbar contains four control groups. They can be repositioned by dragging their beveled "grip"

and hidden by unchecking the corresponding entry in the pop-up menu's Toolbar submenu.

The toolbar is visible only if it contains a least one visible control group and is itself set to visible.

"Buttons" group

The first four buttons are standard navigation controls (Back, Forward, Stop, Refresh).
Autorefresh lets you set an automatic refresh (download and display) interval ranging from 5 seconds to 60 minutes. When automatic refresh is active, the button is depressed and its "clock" icon is highlighted:
Home navigates to the Browser object's home page (set in the "Address" group, see below). Each Browser object can have its own home page.
Favorites is used to open and close the favorites panel. When the button is depressed, the favorites panel is open.
There are equivalent items in the Buttons submenu of the Browser object's pop-up menu:

"Address" group

This group provides a standard URL control with a drop-down list of visited addresses and an associated "go" button (equivalent to pressing Enter when the URL box has input focus).
Make home promotes the current URL to the Browser object's home page (see "Buttons" group above). Home pages are not shared; each Browser object has its own home page.
Tip #1: When you click "Make home", the Browser object saves both the URL and the main frame's horizontal and vertical scrollbar positions. When you click "Home", the Browser goes to the saved URL and scrolls to the saved positions. You can use this feature to center the home page on a particular part of the target document, e.g. a stock chart.

Tip #2: You can resize this control group horizontally by dragging its right border.

Tip #3: The list of visited addresses can be cleared in the Address submenu of the Browser object's pop-up menu:

"Default" group

When you create a new Browser object, its initial properties (size, position, URL list, favorites) are inherited from a set of defaults which can be modified using the buttons in this group.
Make default promotes the Browser object's current properties to the default for new Browser objects.
Clear default deletes the default settings, causing new Browser objects to be created with "factory preset" properties.
There are equivalent menu items in the Gallery submenu of the Browser object's pop-up menu:

This submenu can also be used to Add a copy of the Browser to the object Gallery.

"Deletion" group

Contains a single button, used to delete the Browser object (be careful!). Consider hiding it in Browser objects which you mean to keep.

The equivalent menu item is at the bottom of the Browser object's pop-up menu.
