Investment Studio > Views > Downloads > Lists

A download list is a subdirectory in the <DLISTS> directory. It contains download item files which you usually want to be processed together.

All download lists are displayed in the Downloads view's download list box:

When a download list is selected, all its items are displayed in the download items panel to the right.

When a download list is checked in the list box, it's said to be active.

Clicking in the toolbar while the list box has input focus will cause all items in all active lists to be queued for updating. Running the downloader with the command line switch "/c" has the same effect.

Quotes which are updated while Investment Studio is running are not loaded in memory (and are therefore not reflected by Grids, Charts, Graphs etc.) until you click the Reload quotes button in the upper right corner of Investment Studio's main window:

This button is enabled only if at least one download item has been updated by the downloader since Investment Studio was launched.

The download list box supports the following operations (also see the toolbar):

To sort the lists alphabetically, click the List header. Click a second time to reverse the sort order.
To change the name of a download list, select it, wait a moment, then click the name to open its in-place editor. Press Enter to close the in-place editor and commit to the new name; press Esc to abort editing and revert to the previous name.
To queue all items in a download list for updating, right-click the list to select it and open the list box pop-up menu, then use the Update list menu entry:

The selected list need not be active to be updated this way.

To delete all remarks for all download items in a list, right-click it, then use Zap remarks in the pop-up menu.
To find a list by name, right-click the list box to open its pop-up menu, then use Find.
To create a new download list from scratch, press Ins (the list box must have input focus). Alternatively, right-click the list box to open its pop-up menu, then use New.
To create a copy of an existing download list, right-click the list, then use Copy in the pop-up menu.
To delete all data files maintained by the items in a download list, right-click the list, then use Clear in the pop-up menu.

This deletes the data files associated with the selected list's items, not the items themselves.
To delete a download list, select it, then click Del. Alternatively, right-click the list, then use Delete in the pop-up menu.

This deletes the selected list and its items, not the data files maintained by the items.

The list box can be horizontally resized by dragging the empty space which separates it from the download items panel.
