Investment Studio > Views > Transactions > Merging
Multiple transactions in the same asset can be merged by adding up units, values and fees into a single, "summary" transaction.
To merge transactions in a date range:
| 1. | Set the Grid to display the target asset(s). If only one asset is displayed, only transactions in that asset will be merged. If all assets in the portfolio are displayed, a summary transaction will be created for each asset with at least one transaction in the specified date range. |
| 2. | If you want the summary transaction record(s) to be inserted in a particular Grid position, select any cell in the preceding position. If no cell is selected, the summary record(s) will be appended after existing records. |
| 3. | Click
|
| 4. | Set the source date range [Start,
End] and the Date of
the destination (i.e. summary) transaction(s). Click By default, Start is set to the date of the oldest transaction in the target asset(s). If a transaction is selected in the Grid, End and Date reflect its date. Otherwise, they are set to the latest transaction date in the target asset(s). |
| 5. | Make sure that the checkbox labeled Delete source transactions is not checked unless you really want the source transaction records to be deleted! |
| 6. | Click OK to merge. If the Grid's record definition includes a string custom property called "_COMMENT", the new transaction records will use it to display a comment reflecting the source date range. Click |
